Coachman’s Cottage is a charming and quirky 17th century stone cottage for four. Set in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a short walk into the town centre of Alston. The cottage is ideally located for those wanting to explore historic Cumbria and the old South Tynedale trail which runs from Alston to Haltwhistle and is popular with walkers of all abilities.

Entrance to the property is to the side into the large kitchen/dining area which is well equipped with all you will need to fill up after a long day exploring. Upstairs leads you to the living room and both bedrooms and bathrooms. The living room has 2 two-seater sofa and a log burning stove, perfect for those colder winter months.

it has one double and one twin bedroom, both with en-suite facilities. The cottage has a pretty, and private, enclosed garden. Ideal for families with children and dogs.

There is central heating throughout with good facilities including a washing machine and dishwasher. Linen, towels, electricity and heating are inclusive.
Local Information
Alston is the highest market town in England and boast good local amenities. It has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, including Saddlers Baker which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch, Alston House which serves delicious home cooked meals made using locally sourced produce and the Cane workshop which sells award winning Jams and Chutneys. From the outdoor clothing shop, where you can stock up on supplies to the fish and chip shop where you can grab a tasty treat, there is plenty to do in Alston.
The area is close to the borders of Durham, Northumberland and is a gateway into the Lake District making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Killhope Lead Mining Museum, the South Tyne Railway and Yad Moss Ski Slope are some amazing local attraction to name just a few. For those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling, the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Route runs right through Alston. The rolling countryside with unspoiled panoramic views of moorland is home to an abundance of wildlife and some amazing natural beauties including Ashgill waterfall.

- Coachman’s Cottage can be found on the right just after the first group of houses with our Pennine Country Cottage board displayed on the white picket gate. There is parking for one vehicle beside the cottage.
