South Loaning Apartment is a large, comfortable 1st floor apartment in a beautiful remote country house on a private lane, just a short walk from the centre of Alston. You have your own access and cloakroom, private off-road parking and a small patio area with grass for those warm summer evenings.

The entrance to the property is on the ground floor with a downstairs toilet and stairs leading to the first floor. This apartment, all located on the 1st floor, benefits from having a large amount of living space comprised of a sun room, kitchen/diner and a living room. The sun room is a light and airy room with chairs where you can enjoy unspoilt views all year round. The kitchen/diner is well equipped to cook for the whole family. You can enjoy your meal with the family at the 6 seat dining table and play some board games here after dinner. The living room has an plenty of seating around the TV and log burning stove and space to sit and read a book at the back of the living room if you want some peace and quiet.

There are three spacious bedrooms - a double, a twin and a single with an extra pullout bed. Every room has a different, beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.

Local Information

Alston is the highest market town in England and boast good local amenities. It has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and pubs, including Saddlers Baker which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch, Alston House which serves delicious home cooked meals made using locally sourced produce and the Cane workshop which sells award winning Jams and Chutneys. From the outdoor clothing shop, where you can stock up on supplies to the fish and chip shop where you can grab a tasty treat, there is plenty to do in Alston. 

The area is close to the borders of Durham, Northumberland and is a gateway into the Lake District making this an ideal base to get out and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Killhope Lead Mining Museum, the South Tyne Railway and Yad Moss Ski Slope are some amazing local attraction to name just a few. For those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling, the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Route runs right through Alston. The rolling countryside with unspoiled panoramic views of moorland is home to an abundance of wildlife and some amazing natural beauties including Ashgill waterfall.

From our office in Alston drive to the bottom of the street and turn right onto the A686 Hexham road. You will pass Low Byre Manor and Low Byre Park and you will see a turning to your right just before the national speed limit sign. Take this turning and then the next turning left through the stone gate posts, you can see the property ahead as you drive up the lane. Please be careful as this is a single track road up hill. Parking is located to the right of the property infront of the green door.
