Old Railway Cottage is a Featherstone Estate property and can be found beside the old South Tynedale Railway and Lambley Viaduct which opened in 1842 and closed to trains in 1976. The cottage is approximately a 6 mile drive from Haltwhistle where you can find an array of amenities, local services and transport routes. Renovated to a very high standard, this luxury cottage is perfect for larger groups or multiple families holidaying together.
The cottage and its garden are enclosed making it perfect for those travelling with dogs. The gravelled area to the front of the property provides space for 2 cars to park and there is additional parking close by.

The small entrance hall leads off to the kitchen on the right and to the annex on the left. The kitchen is an extension off the main cottage with a high sloping ceiling and Velux windows. This well equipped kitchen provides a beautiful light and spacious place for guests to cook delicious meals. There is a fridge and freezer (freezer is in the annex), toaster, kettle, microwave, oven and dishwasher. Tea, coffee, sugar and basic condiments are supplied. Down the steps is a dining room with a breakfast area and a large table with space for everyone to sit and enjoy their meal.
Once everyone is fed, head through to the living room to continue the festivities. With its comfy sofas, bean bags and electric stove set in a stone fireplace this provides the perfect setting for a comfy evening of your choosing. You can enjoy the evening either watching the television (freeview), listening to the radio on the amazon echo speaker or playing board games which the cottage has a selection of.
The small double bedroom
(also known as the snug) leads off the living room down 2 steps and is perfect
for those who need ground floor accommodation but are able to manage the few
steps the ground floor of the cottages has. This room can easily double as a
quite space or reading room if there are not 10 guests staying at the cottage,
we will leave the room made up with a sofa. You can request your preference
when you book.
-
The porch leads into the garden and has beautiful carved pews on either side. Here is the perfect location to snuggle up with a drink and a comfy blanket on cooler evenings to watch the sun set over the beautiful surrounding countryside. The garden which surrounds the whole cottage has a patio area with a table, chairs and a charcoal barbecue. The South Tyne Trail can be accessed through a gate to the right side of the garden. Upstairs there are 2 large king bedrooms and a twin room. The family bathroom has a bath and shower above.
-
The annex to the left of the entrance hall has laundry facilities, including a washing machine and a dryer and a shower room with toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a spacious and light double room with dressing table and full length mirror.
The cottage is tastefully
decorated with blues and neutral colours to respect its age and is the perfect
location for a UK get away.
