Curlew Cottage is nestled in the beautiful countryside in Lambley, Cumbria. The cottage is tucked away around the back of a small terrace and has extensive mature gardens with apple trees, berry bushes and a pond. The views over surrounding countryside must be seen. It is perfect for those looking to get back to nature and enjoy the peace and quite but remains close to local amenities in Alston, the Highest Market Town in England and Haltwhistle, known as the Centre of Britain.
You enter the cottage via the conservatory which has seating and a dining table overlooking the garden. The kitchen is bright and modern having been newly fitted. For guest convenience it contains a washing machine and a dishwasher and all the self-catering facilities guests need to make meals during their stay.
The large living room is traditionally furnished with quirky antique furniture including a grandfather clock and nic-naks. The multifuel stove is perfect for cooler evenings and winter getaways.
Upstairs there is an amazing den to the left of the stairs with seating and games, perfect as a children's hide away which children will love. There is a large double bedroom with shower and a twin room, both which have unspoilt views over the surrounding countryside. There is a separate bathroom with bath toilet and sink.
A large section of the garden is fully enclosed. There is a driveway down the side of the property which will easily accommodate 2 cars.

Just 7 miles from Haltwhistle and 9 miles from Alston you can find plenty to do in the local area. There is an array of amenities, local services and transport routes, the cottage is the perfect spot to explore the dramatic local countryside, yet remains in close proximity to cities such as Carlisle to the West, and Newcastle to the East. For those who enjoy walking and hiking, the old South Tynedale Railway which opened in 1842 and closed to trains in 1976 is right on the doorstep. The trail runs from Haltwhistle to Alston with some amazing scenery and wildlife, including Lambley Viaduct which is only a short walk away. The section for Alston to Slaggyford has been restored and you can now take a ride on the train or have a bite to eat in one of Alston’s many cafes. If you like your history Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda, House Steads and the Sill are approximately a 30 minute drive away.
